YCWA 2008 Website of the Year-Stop Vandalism!

Help stop vandalism. Be part of the solution, not the problem!

Goals for 2008
  • Hopefully, if everything goes as planned we will go to Miami in March and maybe even Maine; spreading our message even further.
  • We hope to try and get in as many Action Projects as possible.  Now that our committee is fully functional and ready to go, we can start on really trying to make a difference.
  • As our original group of members has know moved up to 9th grade, we hope that we can establish our program in Coventry High School as well as we did in the middle school.
  • Of course, we plan on raising some money this year so we can afford more hightech and expensive things that will help us with our goals that we couldn't of afforded before.
  • The High School has also instituted the program Project Citizen and we hope that we can succeed in completing all the steps of Project Citizen by the end of this year. (For more information on the High School's intentions, click on the link High School Branch on the left side bar)

  • Our organization created bookmarks, signs and bumper stickers for grades K-12 to help out our town with the growing problem of property destruction.  Within the first week we passed out these items, a citizen pulled out his bookmark with the police number and reported a vandal.  As you can see, our actions have made a difference.
  • Put in $6000 worth of donated landscaping to beautify our school, Flat River.
  • Created a PowerPoint presentation to educate students and communities about vandalism.
  • Taught classes at school’s annual Health Fair about relationship of vandalism and other abuses, etc.
