YCWA 2008 Website of the Year-Stop Vandalism!

Help stop vandalism. Be part of the solution, not the problem!

Our Logo

The stop sign. It's a worldwide symbol and everyone knows it means stop. This octagon shaped figure is used at intersections, crossroads and freeways. But why is it our logo? How does it relate to S.A.V.E.?

Here are some stop signs from around the world:

The stop sign, whether it's in England or Thailand, China or Spain, Japan or France; means to stop. Almost every stop sign is red and has eight sides.  We picked the stop sign as our logo  because we are trying to stop vandalism.  The red color matched our school spirit colors perfectly. We thought this might inspire some people to join S.A.V.E. and support its ideas.  Also the eight sides (except in Japan and the former European ) represent the eight things that vandalism affects and eight types of vandalism.  Here are these components:

What Vandalism Affects: Schools, history, neighborhoods, community, environment, spirits/people , public + private property and town budget.

Types of Vandalism: Graffiti, gravestone damage, A.T.V. erosion, mailbox smashing, egging property,  website vandalism and littering.
