Fundraisers
So far this year, the Alan Shawn Feinstein Middle School has made many fundraisers helping out with our funding we need in order to keep in touch and afford to keep on running our program, some of these were:
Macaroni Night in January raised around $1200 dollars
Deangelo's Fundraiser on March 9th: if you order food anytime between 11am and 3pm, 20% of your order will go towards SAVE.
Programs and Partners
ASFMS has also teamed up with many other organizations and instituted a couple programs.
So far this year, SAVE has teamed up with Brandeis University in a yearlong study on service learning. Also, SAVE at ASFMS has instituted a "Bully Box Program" in which students write forms if they ever see any violence, threat of violence, vandalism, etc. The student then puts the form in this "Box" and it is later seen by the advisors and members of SAVE. This data is later collated on databases to create monthly reports that will later be analyzed by Coventry Police SRO Burlingame, SAVE members and ASFMS administrators. This data also guides SAVE in the right direction by giving them ideas on which things throughout the school have to be changed and which of these things they could create action projects with. The student writing the form can choose whether to write it anonymously or not anonymously, so they would have privacy.
